An aspirant of the National Assembly seat, Chief Barrister Tochukwu Ogalagu, who is the Chairman of Zelus Group of Companies and CEO of Zelunjo Empowerment Foundation, has called on Nigerians to embrace hope, unity, and collective responsibility as the nation approaches a critical political period, even as he formally announced his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In his 2026 Easter goodwill message to Christians and the people of Ebonyi State, particularly those in the Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency, Ogalagu described Easter as a powerful symbol of sacrifice, redemption, and victory over adversity.
According to him, the resurrection of Jesus Christ remains a profound reminder that hope can be restored even in the face of despair. He noted that the triumph of Christ over death should inspire Nigerians to remain steadfast in their pursuit of a better future despite prevailing challenges.
“This season rekindles hope for the hopeless and reaffirms that all things are possible through faith. Just as Christ overcame trials and suffering, we too must remain resolute in the face of adversity,” he said.
Ogalagu emphasized that this year’s Easter celebration coincides with a crucial phase in Nigeria’s political journey, urging citizens to reflect deeply and prepare for the responsibilities ahead. He stressed the need for courage, resilience, and commitment to national development.
Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, he called on Nigerians, especially residents of Ebonyi State, to actively participate in the democratic process by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and remaining law-abiding.
“Democracy thrives when citizens take responsibility for their rights and destinies. A new Nigeria is possible, but it requires the collective effort of all,” he stated.
The business leader also used the opportunity to advocate for transformational leadership across all levels of governance, from local communities to the national stage. He expressed hope for the emergence of visionary leaders committed to justice, peace, and sustainable development.
He further offered prayers for divine intervention in the nation’s affairs, calling for the exposure of corrupt individuals and those fueling insecurity and division.
“It is our earnest prayer that God will disappoint those who loot our commonwealth and sponsor violence, while raising leaders who are dedicated to genuine transformation,” he added.
In a significant political development, Ogalagu disclosed that his resignation from the APC on April 2, 2026, followed extensive consultations with key stakeholders and was unanimously endorsed. He explained that the decision was taken in the best interest of Ebonyi State and Nigeria, as part of a broader commitment to reposition the future.
He urged his supporters and the general public to remain hopeful and united as the journey toward a renewed society continues.
Ogalagu concluded his message by encouraging Nigerians to celebrate Easter with renewed faith, optimism, and a shared vision for national progress.
