The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Edozie Njoku, on Monday presented certificates of return to the party's candidates for Ebonyi North Senatorial District and Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency, officially confirming them as APGA's flag bearers for the 2027 general elections.
The beneficiaries are Chief Chikaodili Ojimba, who will contest the Ebonyi North Senatorial seat, and Chief Barr. Tochukwu Ogalagu, popularly known as T-Man, who emerged as the party's candidate for the Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency.
Presenting the certificates at the party's national secretariat in Abuja, Njoku congratulated the candidates and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by the party and its members.
"The certificates you are receiving today are not merely documents; they represent the trust and confidence of our party and the people you seek to represent. I urge you to remain steadfast, united and committed to the ideals of APGA as you prepare for the 2027 elections," he said.
He added, "Go back to your constituencies, engage the people, run issue-based campaigns and let your character, competence and vision speak for you. APGA is determined to offer credible leadership, and we expect you to uphold the party's values wherever you go."
Responding, Ojimba expressed appreciation to the party leadership for finding him worthy to fly APGA's flag in the senatorial election.
"I sincerely thank the National Chairman, the leadership of our great party and our members for this confidence. I accept this responsibility with humility and a deep sense of commitment to the people of Ebonyi North Senatorial District," he said.
Ojimba pledged to pursue quality representation if elected.
"My priority will be to champion legislation that promotes development, create opportunities for our youths and women, and ensure that the voices of our people are heard at the National Assembly. This mandate is for the people, and I will not disappoint them," he added.
Also speaking, Ogalagu described the presentation of the certificate as a call to greater service.
"This certificate is a call to service and a reminder that leadership is about sacrifice and commitment to the people. I am grateful to APGA for giving me this opportunity to serve," he said.
The Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency candidate assured constituents that his campaign would focus on practical solutions to their challenges.
"I will continue to consult widely with our people and build an inclusive movement that prioritises youth empowerment, quality representation, infrastructure development and improved livelihoods. Together, we will build a constituency where every voice counts and every community feels the impact of good representation," Ogalagu said.
He called on party members and supporters to remain united and mobilise support for APGA ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The presentation ceremony was attended by members of the party's National Working Committee, state executives, supporters and other stakeholders, who expressed optimism that the candidates would strengthen APGA's fortunes in Ebonyi State during the 2027 polls.
