Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Renewed Hope Coordinator for Ikwo Local Government Area, Chief Living Ilang, has led stakeholders and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enyibichiri Alike community in mobilising support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
Ilang, popularly known as “Ekwe Dashie Ike,” made the declaration during an endorsement and mobilisation rally held in Enyibichiri, Ikwo Local Government Area, where political stakeholders and supporters pledged their allegiance to the APC and its candidates ahead of the polls.
Speaking at the gathering, Ilang said the people of Enyibichiri, Alike and the wider Ikwo Noyo political bloc had resolved to support the re-election bid of Nwifuru and the second-term aspiration of President Tinubu.
He urged the people to reciprocate what he described as the administration’s developmental interventions by voting for the APC at the 2027 elections.
According to him, the decision was informed by what he described as the Nwifuru administration’s interventions in infrastructure, healthcare, employment, youth empowerment, peacebuilding and inclusive governance.
Ilang also recalled the voting pattern in the 2023 general elections, urging APC supporters to approach the 2027 elections with renewed political consciousness, grassroots mobilisation and commitment.
He said: “The people of Enyibichiri have seen the interventions of government and we believe that continuity is important. We are mobilising our people to support Governor Nwifuru, President Tinubu and other APC candidates in 2027.”
The APC chieftain further called for sustained engagement with voters at the grassroots, stressing that political mobilisation should be anchored on democratic participation, issue-based advocacy and peaceful conduct before, during and after the elections.
He cited the rehabilitation of health facilities and the development of public infrastructure among the interventions which, according to him, should guide the political choices of the electorate.
The rally also featured financial support to groups in attendance, with Ilang making cash donations running into millions of naira to assist participants with transportation and other logistics.
The event attracted government officials, APC leaders and political stakeholders from Ikwo, including the Commissioner for Education, Dr Donatus Chukwuma Ilang; Prof. Mike Otuma; Hon. Humphrey Nwuruku; Dr Peter Okeh, popularly known as Tallest; former Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area, Chief V.E. Nwode; Hon. Dr Celestine Nwele; former Accountant-General of Ebonyi State, Chief Edwin Igbele; Dr Christopher Nwokora and other party stakeholders.
The mobilisation comes amid intensified political activities across Ebonyi State ahead of the 2027 elections, with APC stakeholders and support groups increasingly positioning the Tinubu and Nwifuru administrations as continuity platforms.
The Enyibichiri stakeholders consequently called for unity among party members and sustained grassroots mobilisation, while urging supporters to remain peaceful and participate actively in the electoral process.
